Hello, Your question belongs us to the differences between incremental and absolute encoders. The differences have been discussed in this thread. And after reading the above thread link, I think if you would like to keep the position of the shaft although if the power switched off, then you have to use absolute encoder. And keep in mind if you changed your sellection from incremental to absolute encoder, this will have a reflection on the sellection of FM which reads the encoder signal. Or you can select profibus absolute encoder. Regards, |
