For all Masterdrives 6SE70, all DC-Master 6RA70 and some other ones, too, there is only one GSD file, because for all Masterdrives... there is only one CommBoardProfibus CBPx (old CBP 6SE7090-0XX84-0FF0, new CBP2 6SE7090-0XX84-0FF5), or 6SX7010-0FF00 / 6SX7010-0FF05. Hello anshul; Could be an interesting project. But there are many details you are leaving out. Is this a real application, or just a lab demo? If it is to control a gantry or a winder, for example, there are very importantsafety issues that you have to take into consideration, on top of the basic control of the drive, Anyway, a few questions to start with: -the joystick: What model do you have that has a Profiobus-DP interface, and what numerical range does it give you? Does it have only one axis (does it give you readings only when you push on it or pull it back, or also when you go left/right)? Does it have digital interfaces (buttons, trigger) that you can read on Profibus-DP and do you want to use these to start stop your drive? - the Masterdrive: Do you know how the basic controls of a Masterdrive are done over Profibus? What experience do you have already on the subject? Do you understand what can be done with the Control Word and the Speed Reference word? What you basically want to do (in your original question) is to couple the joystick readings to the Speed Reference word of the drive, so you control the drive speed based on the joystick position. The Speed reference works this way: a value written to this register forces the drive to a percentage of the maximum rated speed, as you have parametrized it. -a value of HEX 4000 (or DEC 16384) means 100% of max. speed -a value of HEX 2000 ( or DEC 8192) means 50% of max. speed -a value of HEX 1000 (or DEC 4096) means 25% of max. speed -a value of HEX 0 (DEC 0) means 0% of the max. speed, or STOP. The Speed Reference word is the second word allocated to the drive interface when it is configured as a slave in the HWConfig editor (if the base output addrerss assigned to the drive is PQW512, the the Speed Reference word is located at PQW514). You must scale your joystick input from the min/max values you read so they are output on the Speed reference word as a numerical value with a range of --HEX 4000, or 0-DEC 16384 . Have a look at FC15, provided as an example to control a Masterdriveby Siemens: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/20386822 Note that addressing in the example uses German mnemonics, so PAWxxx can be translated to PQWxxx, and PEWyyy becomes PIWyyy.
