It would be good to have a practical example. The Siemens FAQ is not very clear. The HMI Basic Panel evaluates the "Job mailbox" if the first word of this job is unequal to zero. This means that the parameters must be entered in the "Job mailbox" first, followed by the job number. When the HMI Basic Panel accepts the "Job mailbox", the first word is set to 0 again. The execution of the "Job mailbox" is generally not completed at this point in time. The first word of the "Job mailbox" contains the job number; this is "14" to set the time. The second word contains "Parameter 1". The third word contains "Parameter 2". The fourth word contains "Parameter 3". [/code] However, I can see it being confusing, especially the minutes & seconds being stuff into a single "word". The high byte is the minutes, and the low byte is seconds. Does that help? Why does it matter so long as it works every time?

It should set the HMI time to whatever time you set your for your PLC. Can your HMI communicate with your PLC? There is nothing on the HMI to set the time, so you will need to add that. Do you also want to add the date sync between HMI & PLC? Watch for "Blocco_dati_1".Syc_time[0] to be set to 0, then change the 16#e to 16#f, after you set these: "Blocco_dati_1".Syc_time[1] left byte = 0, right byte = weekday (1-7, Sun-Sat). "Blocco_dati_1".Syc_time[2] left byte =day (1-31), right byte = month (1-129) "Blocco_dati_1".Syc_time[3] = year You can only set one or the other, not both at the same time. You may want to update the date just once a day, and disable time updating while setting the date. Perhaps you have a local Siemens development engineer who will contract to help with your projects, or perhaps a Siemens Application Engineer who will come on site and help you understand the online examples. In our area, we have an excellent Siemens Applications Engineer. They have come to our facility several timesduring the last few monthsto help explain several different technologies and techniques.
