Profibus connection with two CPU-315-2DP

BorisH Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Hello. I have two CPU 315-2DP and they both have own OP on profibus. Now I want to exchange some data between this two CPU over profibus. I want to use BSEND but I can’t configure any S7 connection (it said that there are no more connection resources). Is there any other way to exchange data? Thanks for your answers.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello BorisH, I am sorry but a CPU 315-2 DP is, without a new CP, not capable of doing S7 Communication in between the CPUs on PROFIBUS. I see, seen from the Point of the CPU, two ways of solving this: Use a MPI Connection with X_PUT, X_GET or X_SEND, X_RECV. UsePROFIBUS Master Slave relation by changing one of the CPUs to be a DP Master and one to be a DP Slave. In such a relation you can exchange Data by DP itself of if you want by using I_PUT, I_GET functions. I hope I could help. Best regards J_Bell

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Ates, this is quite easy to tell, this is due to the fact that the S7-300 is not capable of doing S7 Connections actively by itself. So if you have a new CP this will work but with the small CPUs, like the CPU 315, it does not work. Best regards J_Bell
