Stepper motor Speed change during runtime

arihant122 Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Hi expert, I have aleady posted this problem in my microstepping post,but nobogy replied. So i decided to create a new thread. I am developing a stepper motor control system using S7 200 PLC (CPU 224).The motor movement control is done using Position control wizard (as suggested by William). But there is a problem regarding change of speed during runtime.I want to alter the pulse rate while motor is running.Such alterations are done in SCADA based system. Is there any way to change the speed just by pressing some push button (Button 1 to increase speed and Button 2 to decrease speed)? Please suggest. Thanks. Arihant

You will find the S7-200 System manual in the following link: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1109582 Chapter 9 discusses open-loop position control, including the Postion wizard and the PTO control blocks. Examination of the different blocks will give you this type of detail: *PTOx_MAN Subroutine* The PTOx_MAN subroutine (Manual Mode) puts the PTO output in manual mode. This allows the motor to be started, stopped and run at different speeds within the range from Start/Stop speed through Maximum speed as specified in the wizard. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

arihant122 Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Thanks Daniel. I meansthat the speed can be changed during runtime only if I havea PC with STEP7/MicroWin installed. Actually I wanted to do it without PC where only a control buttons is available. Thanks anyway.
