S7 200 Connect to CPU 216 2

BradW Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hello I have Step7 MicroWIN V4.0 SP7 Software package and am having trouble connecting to my S7 200 CPU216 2 processor. I have several CPU226 processors and have no problem connecting to them. Is ther a backward compatibility issue ?

BradW Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Thanks for the reply I am at this point trying to access the Plc on the bench and I have tried to address the adapter as several different addresses. I do not know what the address in the CPU is although I believe it is #1. I am using a MPI adapter (USB) 6ES7 972-0CB20-0XA0. I am getting an error that says the"Port could not be opened or is use by another application" I have tried all the baud rates and I have checked and unchecked the "PG/PC is the only Master on the network" checkbox but keep getting the same error. Any suggestions would be helpful

BradW Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Thanks Apparently the drivers did not install correctly the first time. I removed the PC Adapter application and started again.I was able to connect using the PPI interface and not the MPIinterface after reinstalling the drivers. Thanks again.

BradW Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	I have resolved the issue thanks for your comment. The problem was in my laptop, I was running RSLinx for Allen Bradley and it was conflicting with my coonection to the S7 200 processser, whenI turned off the RSLinxI was able to connect .
