Thumper Posts: 62 Rating: (19)	As far as I know, the S7-200 series only has RS485 communications. You can use the programming cable to get from RS232 to RS485.

Yes you can use RS 232 with S7-200 BUT you have to use a protocol converter. since s7-200 has an RS 485 free port, you need to use a convertor. be careful not to burn the port if dont use the converter..
