It is approx 1 bar (absolute) at sea level. It's my understanding that the unit 'bar' is assumed to be absolute, because is it a measure of 1 atmosphere at sea level (rather than gauge pressure, referenced to atmospheric pressure and denoted barg) 2) Pressure inside a tank depends on whether - head space pressure is developed where something fills the tank under pressure, like a nitrogen blanket, and is maintained with a source and a pressure regulator - vacuum pressure is developed when the tank is evacuated with a vacuum pump or by the removal of material and inadequate venting. - a material's vapor pressure is contained and develops a pressure. For example, the vapor pressure of propane at 60 Deg F (16 Deg C) is 92 psig (637 kPa). - a liquid hydrostatic pressure is exerted on the walls of the tank - pressure is developed by a chemical reaction, like an exothermic reaction where generated heat increases the pressure of any contained liquids or gases. How do we calculate pressure in a water storage tank for potable water . let's say its height is 10 m , with water level at 8 m . I want to calculate the pressure of air left in the the last 2 m empty space which will increase and decrease with the level of water?
