CPU921 upgrade path

Fiona Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hello, I am working on an upgrade project for a system currently comprising 3 PLCs as follows: PLC A - CPU 921-3WB11 with 4 additional expansion racks (182-3KB61 x2, 180-3AA11 x2) via interface modules 301-5CA12 (in CC), 310-3AB11(x2), 312-5AA12, & 312-5AB41 to digital IO only (430-3AB11, 455-3AC11, 450-3AA11, 456-6AA12). This CPU also communicates via 512-5BC12 to a 928B (call this PLCB). There is a 3rd CPU 928B (PLC C) on the process, which is under-utilised. I would like to move the program from the CPU921 (PLC A) to the under-utilised 928B (PLC C). This would allow us to update the old digital IO to S7 and connect it via IM 308C in the 928B (PLC C). I realise there would be some work in rewriting the serial interface currently between 921 (PLC A)& 928B (PLC B) to the under-utilised 928B (PLC C) - 928B (PLC B) My question - is it possible for the 928B to connect to the original digital IO using the existing interface modules as an intermediate step? thanks, Fiona
