Hello guys.

I just got project to modify existing software on this CPU and to connect it to touch panel. I already know I will use Micro/Win to connect to it, but I am not sure about two things:

1. How will I connect to the CPU from my computer? Normal DP Siemens cable or something else?

2. What touch panels can I connect to the CPU, and how can I program those panels? Can I use Win CC flexible 2008? I see that this CPU doesn't have ProfibBus so how will I connect CPU to panel, and how will I donwnload HMI application to panel?

The CPU224 has a single RS485 port on the CPU.

You use the PPI (point to point interface) protocol for communication.
PPI is of the same family as (more) MPI and (less) Profibus.

If the HMI can communicate to an S7-300 over MPI,
chances are very good it will work on an S7-200 PLC.
Many 3rd party HMIs can communicate on PPI protocol.

A PPI cable is used to link PC to PLC.
Some MPI cables also allow linking to the S7-200.
3rd party cables does exist.

Careful!
There are some special problems when working with a CN version.
It has to do with the (human) language setup.. specifically Chinese.

I have not worked with any of those personally but it will do. I think those HMIs can be programmed using the PPI cable I spoke about earlier.
