In simoreg 6RA70 what is Snubber circuit exactly ?

In filed reversal applications CUD1 and CUD2 boards have 'Free wheeling diode' as internal snubber circuit, apart from Expert mentioned commonly used RC snubbers across thyristors .

As explained by experts in earlier post, snubber circuit is protective circuit which prevents failure of power semiconductor devices by limiting dv/dt. Please check the attached sheet which explains how RC snubber circuit is connected across thyristor.
