Hello.

I was searching for gsd file for my CPU 1516F-3 PN/DP, but i cant find any. I looked in the tia to export the cpu and i couldn't find an option for that. So my question is can i make a gsd file for my cpu and if it is possible how to make a gsd file.

Hello,

do you mean GSD (PROFIBUS) or GSDML(PROFINET)?

For PROFINET GSDML you must have set the Operation Mode of the PN Interface to IO-Device and configure the Transferareas.

Then the Button "Export GSDML" is available in the PN Interface properties.

hi,

S7-1500 CPU can not be used as I-Slave over the internal DP-interface.

see the technical data of your CPU.

and also the manual:

Requirements for configuring an I-slave
The I-slave consists of:
● A CPU from S7-1500 and a communications module CM 1542-5/CP 1542-5
(STEP 7 as of V12)
● A CPU from ET 200SP and a communications module CM DP (STEP 7 as of V13 SP1)

 Thanks for the advise. After i published the post i found it myself in the manual but it isn't what i'm looking for my project. I'm using profinet. Now i need to find it online and download it. I searched but I couldn't find any. Any advise?

Hello,

there is no preconfigured PROFINET GSDML available for PLC with PN Interfaces!
The configuration is PLC specific and you can only export the GSDML from you PLC Config, no other Option available!

Why you can't use the Export Option of the PLC?

I have only one plc. And when i try to export it i get the error that it needs to have a master. The problem is when  try to go online. But like I said i have only one plc and for exporting i need to have a master and a slave and a transfer area from what i understood.

can you attach the ErrorMessage?

For the Configuration of the IO-Mode you need no other PLC.

Activate the mode "IO-Device", then lower create the Transferareas and after Compile of the PLC you can export the GSDML.

Hello.

My bad. I didn't understand quite well and i thought that i needed two controllers. Thanks for the advise to both of you. I successfully uploaded my project to the plc. Now i get an some kind of error for my io device. Is it because I connected only my plc to my pc without some external devices connected to my plc or is it something else.

yes this can happen if no Controller is connected to the PLC which is configured i IO Device mode.
