What happens inside the ABB's impulsrelay is exactly the same what happens with the suggested softwarematic solution. So connecting a push button directly to the relay will do the same like the 'flip-flop' block and a PLC connected to a push button and a normal relay (or other output).

If I understood you correctly, you meant to say that I can simply connect external pushbutton to any of input points and it would do the job? The idea is to upgrade existing system, based on ABB's relay and pushbutton, so it could be switched both by pushbutton and Weintek's HMI pannel.

Well, yes and no. The output from the PLC can be parallel with the push button to the ABB relay, but inside the PLC you don't need a flip-flop function. I don't know how Weintek's HMI software is working, but with Siemens you can give an 'inverse bit'  property to your HMI button. This will invert the selected PLC's output bit directly when someone pushes this HMI button.

So all together you don't need what is mentioned in this post:
