An ST source file is exactly this what you have opened in your editor. It is used to hold source code in ST language.

A source file can't be called in a program. But you can code functions and functions blocks which in turn can be called. Programs can be coded in a source file as well.

Also a source file can't be called from Execution System (I believe this is what you had in your mind) but programs can.

The picture shows what needs to be done so one could use global vars from someSource unit in LAD unit called someLAD.

to access the global variables of a ST unit in another you can di this with the USES directive:

ST1 -> defination of symbols

ST2 -> USES ST1 , then the symbols can be use.
