Reading DP Slave on 318 CPU

Until now I was expecting the problem on the CP 342-5 but now you show that the Slave you can not connect to is on the CPU DP Interface. This is a totally different story. First of all you can not use DP_SEND/DP_RECV for this function. Here you need, if the Slave has consistent data you need to use the SFC 14 DPRD_DAT or SFC 15 DPWR_DAT. If the Data provided by the slave not consistent over 3 or more than 4 Byte you do not need any additional function. In the case of the mentioned PDP22 I would say if the Online diagnostics of the HW Config shows that the Slave is not available than I guess the DP Master does not see it. So there seems to be something wrong in the Configuration. I guess you should contact the Technical Support by the Manufacturer of the device, maybe ABB might help you in this case. Heavy D Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Dear J_Bell, Sorry for the confusion. I thought that I was on the CP342-5 but I was actually on the CPU. As for the PDP22, I've been working with ABB on this as well but they haven't been to much help yet. I just installed the PDP22, WDIO100 on the 315-2 CPU that is on the automation side of this machine and everything works fine with the connection. The only difference was the I/O address assigned to the module and that the 315-2 is using 1.5Mb/s and the 318-2 I need to connect it to is using 12Mb/s. I will update when I get this connected properly to the 318-2. Best Regards Daniel

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Daniel, might it be that the Slave you use is preset to run at may 1.5 MBit? Some, especially DPV0 Slaves are set to run with no higher Baud rate. Maybe a try with the CPU 318 would ensure this too. Best regards J_Bell

I am now running off the CP342-5 as was mentioned in the first post and I'm using the following code: CALL DP_RECV CPLADDR:=W#16#922 RECV:=P#DB250.DBX4.0 BYTE 81 NDR:=DB250.DBX2.0 ERROR:=DB250.DBX2.1 STATUS:=DB250.DBW0 DPSTATUS:=DB250.DBB3 I am able to read the inputs now in DB250. The issue with the PDP22 & WDIO100 configuration was with the bus speed. The PDP22 (acording to the specs) does support a bus speed of 12Mbit. I could not get a spec on the WDIO100 for bus speed but they work fine on 1.5Mbit Best Regards Daniel
