Hi, Generic RS-485 cable is the same as MPI. Pins 3 and 8 is used for data + and data - and pin 5 is used for grounding. All RS-485 standard cables are the same. RS-485 is hardware standard and MPI, Profibus etc are only protocols running on RS-485 media. |

if you are having PC with RS-485 port then you can directly communcate with S7-200 provided it supports PPI protocol and baud rate is 19.2 K. |

Hi!! be careful, because PLC port supplies voltage... just take care that your cable only connects to pin 3, 8 and 1 ROSA |
