Hello,

i would like to to export alarms as it is done in the Excel-Application "OLE-DB Tag and Alarm Export_V8".

But i would like to use the database CC_ExternalBrowsing  as Catalog provided by the ConnectivityPack because the Name is not changing.

Is it possible to create a linked Server in SQL Management Studio with the WinCCOLEDBProvider pointing to the CC_ExternalBrowsing database and then query alarms from the linked Server and store them in Excel or another SQL instance?

I don't want to query the name of the wincc 7.3 runtime database (CC_OS_1__16_05_17_16_12_28R) and instead use CC_ExternalBrowsing.

I already tried the Excel Application from this link and I also had problems to get it running.

I also tried the c# Application that is provided in the same siemens article and i didnt work out very well.

The best application for me I found was the WinCC Connectivity Pack Sample VB-Application "WinCCDBPr".

It works fine and with it you can test Connections easily.

My solution for now is to use a SQL SSIS Package with Export/Import using the WinCCOLEDBProvider and accessing the CC_ExternalDatabase

The SSIS-package is scheduled with SQL Agent Job.

Then I query the alarms and write them to another database instance where I can Access the alarms with standard SQLOLEDB from 3rd Party application.

Do you have the WinCCOLEDBProvider application for download? I need to extract data from WinCC to CSV from a remote station. Appreciate so much for helping.

There you can find information about the winccoleddbprovider which is within sql database.

winccoledbprovider is no separate application you can download.

Thank you so much Klinger. The document is very detail and useful. I gotta spend some time to read through. 

I just did a searching on the document and found the application. It is inside WINCC installation CD. Anyone have it? Please see attached picture. Section 3.7.4.5.
