silvio_dante Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	I'm getting this same problem, has anyone managed to figure out what is going wrong here??? I'm starting to get annoyed with this Step 7 software. It gives an error but no information about what the error is regarding.

If you put it on RUN you cannot download the program and you will receive this error: unknown user (D241) The function is not permitted in the current protection level. The difference between RUN and RUN-P are: unknown user In RUN you can only upload the program from the PLC. In RUN-P you can downloading the project in to the PLC. More information on this thread.

Thank you! Completely forgot about SIM being in run, this had been doing my head in for hours!

Jay J Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	I had the same problem when I try to download program to PLCSIM. My CPU is 3117-2 PN/DP. Then I click PLC->Clear/Reset, and try to download again, succeded. You may try this way. Or directly click "MRES" on the PLCSIM-CPU window.
