One solution is for sure an OPC server. SimaticNet OPC can communicate to Simotion via Ethernet connection.

I am trying to interface with ethernet and the WinCC scada over Simtic Net OPC to a C230.

Anybody done this yet?

I had the same issue with a Simotion D435. It is connected with a wincc flexible touch panel via profibus and it has a perfect connection and no problems with the tags.

The problem was with the connection to wincc scada (7.4) via ethernet TCP/IP.
i had made a connection at tag mangement simotion and it was ok but i didn't know how to write the address of the tag. I copied it from flexible but it didnt work because it needs something more.

HERE IS THE SOLUTION:

you have to go to simotion scout and make the configuration for the ethernet connection. save compile and download.

then go at options and export the opc tags with version 6.4.

then you go to your PC with the wincc scada change your ip to a nearest ip of your simotion and ping the ip that you have given at your simotion.

then you open the Simotion Mapper.exe (is included in C:\Program Files (x86)\Siemens\WinCC\bin) then you open the folder from Simotion you have exported and you have the list of all tags of the simotion.

then check all the D435 and check create new wincc project (because maybe you will have problem with your existing project) and press the start mapping button. all these with wincc closed.

after that you will open the new project that had been made automatically and you will see the tags from simotion in tag management - Simotion - D435. it is ready but you will have to fix the set pg/pc interface if you dont have connection.

if you want you can see how the addresses are written or copy the whole tag manegement to an excel file and go to your project and make a new Simotion connection and add your tags!!!
