Hello everyone,

I had an Field PG M3, but all the time the ram memory is at 90% of use, this makes the PC very slow. I want to upgrade to 8Gb of ram, which is the maximum that the field can handle.

I searched and I found that the correct ram to use is an SODIMM DDR3 1066MHz. Does the Field PG have an additional slot for another memory, or do i have to change the 4Gb card for an 8Gb? Can anyone help me with this?

you will see that the PG have 2 Memory Slots.

Check in the bios main page if you have 1x4GB or 2x2GB plugged.

The PG can habdle only up to 4GB modules, a 8GB module will not work.

There would be two memory slots in PG.

You can upgrade one more same RAM size that already factory installed in PG.

I have upgraded my PG M5 RAM 8GB TO 16GB recently after installing TIA portal V15.1.

See attached pic of RAM consumption.

Now PG is more faster.

I already have an 4Gb module, I will be installing an additional 4Gb module, because sometimes when i just open firefox to check e-mails or the TIA Portal V13 it aleready goes very slow.

The standard configuration of the Field PG M3 has a Intel Pentium Dual Core P4500, 1.86 GHz processor with 2-MB 2nd Level Cache and 1x 2GB DDR3 1066MHz RAM

Maximum:  3-GB DDR3 RAM 1066MHz (1x 2GB, 1x 1GB).

For Field PG M5

Siemens SimaticM5 Field PG-maxup to 64GB.
