An update.

We involved a student to reinstall OS and Step7 and TIA15. Both feel themselves fine.

  The student spent around two working days to get "experimental " laptop ready.

The reasons might be:

• a ditry OS (pretty old installation 2013);
  
• kb3033929 (could mess things up);
• casual mess with licences (a conflict of two different ALM);
• combination of point described above.

So treatment is to be reinstalling.

hmmm problem is always with Windows updates in my opinion. From time that I closed my updates downloads and installs, I don't have any problems. Also no problems after sporadic Siemens installs.

what you mean with "casual mess with licences (a conflict of two different ALM)"?

ALM (Automation Licence Manager) can only be installed once on the system, a parallel installation of different versions is not possible.

really didn't watch on replacing ALM versions and didn't make any notes.Please believe me I wasn't going to write a doctoral dissertation on this theme.

Just noticed that newly installed ALM didn't see any drives.

 For God sake, we're not enjoying of endless installtion, reinstallation, looking for reasons.

We don't have a fetish for investigation why TIA is so slow, why TIA killed OS or Step7.

We just need to work. We have some kind of conveyor. So we are still not allowed to use TIA.

For example last my trip I met with german colleague from other company. They already use TIA and S7-1500 in their machines. He complained that his laptop  has at least three versions of TIA installed, Early versions fo machines that were programmed by early TIA version and so forth.

Software must be working like Kalashnikov rifle.  Charge->Shot->Hit. That's all.

 Did you set proper bullets inside (updates, SPs)? Hope not 5,65  So little imagination...

Yes, same to me but everyone need probably go through some problems with instalation, not compatibility to know much better about problems. No other way probably. Also making image backups prior doing some changes is must! It takes no long time and after some problems i can change back to my working version...

just ordered for experiments 1511 -1PN. I feel there will be lots of quesions here from me.
