The thing is that I did not created any library. I just opened TIA V16, search for my project that was made in TIA V15.1, clicked open, and clicked update. That is all.

Hi guys,

I have some FB I have created and used for years, but today I tried to simulate them and I saw that option CAN BE SIMULATED WITH SIMATIC S7-PLCSIM is not selected in them.
I just checked and in all my old projects this option was seleceted on my FB, and I was able to simulate the project (TIA V14, V15, V15.1).

Now I am using TIA V16 and I just updated my project from TIA V15.1 and I used the same FB.
Basically, project in TIA V15.1 simulated and working, same project updated to TIA V16 and simulation is not working. 
I have turn on Support simulation during block compilation in my project but still I can not change option CAN BE SIMULATED WITH SIMATIC S7-PLCSIM on my blocks because it is grayed out, like it is not avalible.

Anybody know what can I do to activate this funiction on my FB in TIA V16?

 what about think about some simple trick to copy code from that FB to new FB where this option can be available for use?

This is always an option, but did Siemens development team spent so much time creating new TIA V16, but they did not think about that a LOOOOT of people would like to update their old projects to TIA V16??
But, it is possible that they forgot about this. Four month ago Siemens relased their library from new DALI modul, and also in this library they did not alowed simuations. I contacted Siemens development team in Nürnberg and they told me they forgot to alow simulation on FB in their library.

We would fill up this topic with complaints if we start talking about things that should have been done right first time. Rushing to market is the evil here.

Volunteers here are users too. Here we are preaching to the choir. It is as much helpful as debating Pres. Trump's tweets.

But I must say thank you for making me aware of the problems even before I upgrade to V16.

yes, problems can be everywhere also in future when you'll give your prj to Customer and after some time Customer send you info that you've forget implement something what you all had confirmed. Anything is possible and we're programmers, people...
