Hello, I’m new to working with PLCs and with Step7/Siemens so every help would be appreciated.
I’m trying to measure the instantaneous flow rate of water passing through a sensor however it is not working very well for me. The sensor I’m using is an Omega component (FTB2003) which has the following characteristics (http://www.omega.com/manuals/manualpdf/M3236.pdf):
And the output signal is a square wave signal, whose frequency varies linearly with the flow rate.
To analyze the signal I followed the help given to me here in the forum, however, is still not working and I do not know what went wrong or how to fix it. I’m using a S7-1200 CPU 1214 DC/DC/DC and a Relay module to power the sensor. What I did was to enable a HSC (high-speed counter) with the characteristic shown in the figure attached (but I do not know if I choose it correctly). After that I used a Norm_X and a Scale_X functions like the figure. Now, I do not know what to do. Do I need any other function also? Can someone help me please? Thank you in advance

I wired it in the I0.4 input of the CPU (Sorry I forgot to say this). Thanks |

Maybe you might find this interesting: Sample Program: S7-1200 High Speed Counter (HSC)

Hello eisenpferdreiter, Does that program exists in the V13 version? Is just because when I try to open it, it gives an error and does not open. Thank you |

Hi, Yes, I am using the ID1000:P (I do not know if I should be using the ":P" but I read in the forum that it allows the immediate reading). However, the value of this variable that appears in the HMI (I put it as you suggested) is 0. I also changed the HSC from frequency to counts and even then the value of the "ID1000:P" is 0. This means that is probably some configuration problem, is it not? The screen shoots that you asked are in the attachment. Thank you for all the help that you have been giving me AttachmentCaudalimetro.rar (171 Downloads) |
