Message R9200 after motor burnt! help

chteng Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Help..... -i use Micromaster 440 tofor variable speedcontrol motor ( 1.5 kW). I experienced frequentmotor failure over the past 5 months. Following scenario observed for each failure: a)During each shutdown of motor, frequencydrop from 50 Hzto 0 Hz slowly( within6 seconds) until it stop. When the frequency reach20 Hz and below,Message R9200blinking on the panel. After several time ofmotor shutdown,the motor cant be started anymore.Rewinding required. b)When the motor being sent for rewinding, there is always single coil burnt. What could be the cause for this kind of failure?? Should we set the ramp up and ramp down time to 0?? Site checking is carried out, incoming power supply is stable. Please help....!! Thanks.

JensS Posts: 739 Rating: (55)	Hello, a) Message R9200 isn’t a MICROMASTER fault. It looks like a message of a plc. To see the MICROMASTER faults, look into r0947; for warnings refer to r2110 b) It looks like a problem in your producing process; I suggest contacting yourbusiness partner

If you not knowing, what is the rating of drive?? And please describe your whole Process in some more detail and specially about fault... Are you getting any fault on Display of drive?? Drive fault will start with F and Alarm with A (Like F001 or A501) Devesh

chteng Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi Jens, We are using 6SE6440 for 1.5 kW motor ( for dosing pump). We experienced blinking signal ofA 0922 when we need to shutdown the motor ( Signal appear when frequency drop till 30 then 20 then 0 Hz). After several time of shutting down, motor burnt with single coil. Message A 0922 stated that load missing. How can we trouble shoot? For dosing pump, we should select inverter application P0205 as 0 ( constant torque ) or 1 (variable torque) Current setting is '0', will this settin cause the above failing scenario? Thanks.

This alarm will flash if your actual current will be less that 3%(Factory Set). Now just a guess, Are you using any output contactor?? How you are controlling On and Off of the Inverter?? Devesh

JensS Posts: 739 Rating: (55)	A0922 = No load applied to inverter see: P2179 Current limit for no load ident “Load missing” - It may be that the motor is not connected (load missing) or a phase could be missing. - If a motor setpoint cannot be entered and the current limit (P2179) is not exceeded, Alarm A0922 (no load applied) is issued when delay time (P2180) expires. This alarm occurs when a) the inverter isn’t well set up for the application b) a “wiring” mistake happens between inverter and motor set up of P0205 Inverter application which materials you are handling with the pump? is it possible that you get reward flow of your material? do you need to have the VT load of the inverter? if so, set: P0205 =1 VT.Characteristic P0500 = 1 Pumps and fans P1300 = 2 V/f with parabolic characteristic If not: I suggest using factory settings for P0205, P0500 and for P1300 = 1 V/f with FCC motor burnt with single coil do you mean, that one of the motor-windings is burned (defect)? If so, please control the wiring, contactors, etc. between inverter and motor (if a phase is missing A0902 can displayed)

In your case, you are shutting down motor directly. You are not allowing Drive to Stop Motor first, thats why it detects No Load.. If you want to use that contactor, either you should use OFF2 before operating that contactor or, operate contactor only after VFD stops.. Refer following FAQ for more... Can I switch the output of the drive to the motor on and off using a contactor or isolating switch? Best Regards, Devesh Vithani

If you need to have that, you have to parametrize / wire this. Yes it is possible that this alarm is displayed when one of the motor coils is “burnt”, but it is not the reason of this burnt coil. This alarm is displayed, when the actual motor current is less than 3% (P2179 - Factory Set). - It may be that the motor is not connected properly, e.g. a phase could be missing (= burnt coil). The reason of this burnt coil could be a: - bad power cable connection between motor and inverter. - defect contactor (if you are using one) between motor and inverter. - a bad / wrong coil insulation (is the motor certified for inverter?) - a missing / defect output phase of the inverter Explanation: When one of the motor phase is not properly connected, ore missing, than the inverter will feed the motor via the remaining two phase. This brings a lot more current, inside the motor, as the motor coils can handle. The inverter will not see the missing phase, but after a wile A0922 is displayed.

Well Jens, As per chteng's last post, he is using output contactor. Now what I am thinking is, he has some problem in control logic. He might shutdown the motor along with contactor. In such case, motor will stop by it self and drive will ramp down and will get A0922 because of open contactor. Contactor should not be operated while drive is still supplying power to motor Because of On Load switching of contactor at output of drive, motor is being damaged.. In this caseis better waycontrol the output contactor directly by MM440 outputtogether with internal BI-CO parametrisation (free programming blocks). Safety relay contact connect to Dig. Input of MM440and configure thisas theOFF3 signal. Vitas

P0300 Select motor type 1 Asynchronous motor (induction motor) 2 Synchronous motor 2. p0304 Rated motor voltage (Nominal motor voltage [V] from rating plate) The rated motor voltage on the rating plate must be checked, regarding the star/delta circuit configuration toensure that it matches with the circuitconnection configured at the motor terminal board 3. p0305 Rated motor current (Nominal motor current [A] from rating plate 4. p0307 Rated motor power (Nominal motor power [kW/hp] from rating plate) If P0100 = 0 or 2, value will be in kW. If P0100 = 1, value will be in in hp. 5. P0640 Motor overload factor (Motor overload factor in [%] relative to P0305) This defines the limit of the maximum output current as a % of the rated motor current (P0305). This parameter is set, using P0205 for constant torque, to 150 %, and for variable torque, to 110 %. you must notice that the motor was rewired, then it could support less current, because is easier to rewire whit a wire with less diameter if you could eliminate teh downstream contactor will be excellent. i hope that it was helpfull.
