Does anyone encountered some issues while reading points from 3rd party BACnet devices?

It seems the R_A doesn`t read the BACnet point. I`ve added the Device ID and object instance but still cannot read it.

Any idea?

Can you send a picture, how you configured the R_A block?

Are you sure, that you have used a correct BA point type?

Did you tried to contact the 3rd system from same place on the network as is PXC? With another words - are you sure, that you have contact with 3rd BA system over network ? Isn't it blocked by a router or switch ?

Please find attached a photo of the point configured. Actually, I don`t manage to read any points from 3rd party BACnet devices

All devices are connected on a switch and there is no router. I can access the device directly from Desigo CC discovery mode and any BACnet browser.

It must be a setting on the bloc or the controller itself.

What is the difference between block and interface?

When changing the values in block, why the interface values don`t update?

Do we need to convert the DWORD to INT and write the BACnet instance and device ID or does that means it`s only the interface to the BACnet device?

are you sure, that the DP#s data are correct?

You have instance ID: 200'0'100108

I would like to check the communication, that you will connect any other device on the network , but on the same port as you have 3rd part device and then try to read the data from this new device via PXC4/5.

This is often painful to get communication btw. 2 devices. Or I would like to recommend to connect the PC with any Bacnet browser instead of the PXC4 and test if you can read the point from there.

The Desigo CC can maybe read the data, because is it on another port nad then the port is open this way/direction.

The device id is 200 and the object instance number is 100108. The issue I`ve got is that I don`t manage to read any BACnet devices from the PXC4. All BACnet browser works fine and I can see them. It must be the way I am setting up the block.

In BACnet interface, what`s the ItemID mean? Do we need to change it?

Documentation: Item identifier
[ItemID] represents and item index and a view node object that references the BACnet object.
[ObjectID] and [ItemID] together define an indirect reference to the BACnet object.
Value 1 indicates a direct interface.

If one device doesn`t support the segmentation, should we select the Max ADPU lenght to 1024? Could that the be issue? Are there any other parameters to check?

what's the ID tag for BA object in the Desigo CC or if you have a screenshot from another BA browser?

That's will be very helpful, the picture as you sent, seems to be very confusing and the meaning of the BA address isn't visible from it for me.

It seems to me, that there is missing some part of information btw.

Send to here the print screen of the read of value in a BA browser or from Desigo CC or the full documentation for 3rd part device (from where you took this picture). Then I can try to check if your written address is correct.

The DP data = I mean  Datapoint address, sorry for confusing. 

ADPU for IP devices should be at least 1024, but it is depending on, if the communication btw. controllers goes via some router or not, because not all routers or VPN services support segmentation with higher number. 

What's the IP address, are both devices on same IP segment with same network mask?

E.q.: Device PXC4 : IP:192.168.1.1 and 3rd part device : IP:192.168.1.200, network mask 255.255.255.0 ?

See attached the BACnet browser results. There is probably a setting in the controller that would make it work. I am still trying different idea. If you think of anything else, please let me know
