Hello Guys.

When using a TP900 Comfort panel, and the advanced Recipe view - the ruler for scrolling up/down is very very small, the width is only half of normally in WinCC 2008...

Is it possible to adjust the size of this?

Okay, that works, but when moving the screen up/down the scroller gets visible, and "eats" some of the numbers - see attached picture...

When i right click in the view, and press edit - and editing the columns to stop a bit more to the left, it works the first 2 times i've load the screen, then thenumbers isn't "eaten" by the scrooler- after that, the columns expands to the whole view again.

Is there a software bug here, or do i do something wrong?

Same problem, after the recipe view has been loaded 2-4 times, the layout resets, and turns back to the original view, before edited the view in WinCC

This is known behavior of recipe view control. It was fine with till V13, but after V13 sp1 they have changed.

You can shift value column with recipe element column .  Its work, i did.So at least you can see the numbers are  not getting invisible while scrolling but element last letters can get invisible.

Even you can't align the position of numbers instead of left alignment to right alignment.

Hope so they have changed  in TIA Portal V14

That's correct, in WinCCFlex the EDIT mode (right click) it worked fine, you could size the value field to your own needs and choose to have an vertical scroll bar or not.

Now the edit mode to move colums and the way the recipe looks like are not functional.

It is hard to enter values of recipes now.

The tip you have can help but it is not normal to do it this way.

In Protool and WinCC all these functions worked great. why is it so difficult to get it working fine?

This "feature" makes the use of recipe faceplate quite uncomfortable and it's even dangerous if half of information is invisible!!! But those Siemens guys don't even seem to care! somteimes it feels like banana production -> product gets ripe on customers shelf and shoulders!

I tried in v14 & It works perfectly.

Which HMI type?

Which version ?

If you have an input fied in the recipe it may look like this:

Discription                                                                                  value

Setpoint speed motor 1 (10..100%)                                    [                30]

If you touch the screen (no matter which TP) on the number 30, the screen starts to scroll.

If you press on the left side of the input field, all is OK, the keybord comes on and you can give in value.

So the scrollbarr takes up half of the input fiels like I said in previous posts.

If I can upload a video I can show the problem.

Here is what I understand your problem looks like:

Have you tried to right-click on the "recipe view" object and select "Edit".

At this point, you can resize the table headers and also change their positions, for example place the "Value" header to the left side.

Here you are, everything is good.

No need to tell anybody they are a banana production, just have to ask gently.

I don't really like bananas, but this a nutritive fruit!

I tried the recipe function in TIA V14, but nothing is changed, the invisible scrollbar still takes up half of the input field. You have to press on the left side of the input field, otherwise the screen starts scrolling. 

As i mentioned in earlier post, it was issue with only V13 SP1. Now this is resolved in V14.

If i understood  you correctly then answer for your problem is the attached screen.

Scrolling bar is far away from your value field. Now in attached screen entry name is at left side and value at right side. During run-time you can swap the value and entry name. It means "Value"column at left side and "Entry Name" at right side.

Still if I am not understood correctly to you then make video and post it here.

 You screen shot is of V13SP1. Me also don't like banana but mango is my favorite

That is exactly what I mean.

I know that if you move the value input field to the left the problem is solved. (because in the other field there is no input)

But I like to have the description of the field first and then the value field.

With older TP 170 for example and other develepment software you could nicely see the vertical scrollbar next to the fields and you could choose to turn the scrollbars on or off.

Now in TIA portal you cannot see or move the scrollbar, so you don't know where the with of the scrollbar starts or ends.

The solution you provide is not a solution but a workaround, the solution would be to show the scrollbar and to be able to move it and to put it on or off.

See attachment for wincc scrollbar, this is how it should look.

The scrollbar should never overlap an input field and always be nicely placed on the right side of the recipe screen. Also it is not normal to tell my customers that they have to move the colums by hand before they can operate the touch panel.

Just send the programmers back to their desk's and let them fix it.

The newer software and TP's should work better not worse.

Your right. It was not good till v13sp1. As i mentioned in earlier post, this issue got resolved in V14.

We understand your point and this is why we try to help you.

A workaround is a strategy to overcome a problem in a system, which is actually the case with V13, not V14.

Older TP were configure via WinCC flexible which is not the same as TIA.

TIA offer you greater benefits overall.

At this point, you can go to V14, use workaround and move forward or open a support request to send a message to Germany software programmers.

Here still not OK with the slider, version is V14.

In edit  / developer mode slider is OK but not in runtime, slider becomes small vertical line.

As shown in my previous printscreen, go to "Properties" > "Properties" > "Appearance" and uncheck "Display status bar".

It works here and I don't understand why it would not with yours. (even on the HMI or with runtime)

My example was PC runtime, it maybe different from HMI TP runtime.

Wit TP900 simulation Slider still not OK.

Small line on the right side, no difference when I EDIT the Recipe layout and move the value colum to the left, as soon as I leave the edit mode the value field with jumps back to the right and leaves no room for slider.

Anyway, no more time for experimenting, work is calling.

Small line on the right side...

in this case you can wipe the list up and down without using the scroll bar - just like on a smart phone or tablet. The small bar on the side is useful to show you the position in the list.

Found the solution in Runtime settings - Screens - Scrolling in Controls.

At default, the option Scrolling in Controls has the value "Scroll Indicator"

When I changed this option to "Scroll Bar" then I got a scroll bar in the RT view.

The value input field still has to be positioned exactly so that no items on the right side "fall of" the screen.

Hello Frink,

The swiping is known here but the meat handling operators use a pointer stick and a scroll bar is more useful then. Sometimes I use arrows up and down and give them function page up en page down to go up and down the recipe.
