Let's devide S7-300 and Masterdrive. 1. You have USB/MPI adapter. Is this correct? Is this Siemens' adapter? What is the MLFB number in case of Siemens manufacture? Look at What should you watch out for when installing the USB PC adapter? With this kind adapter you can program S7-300 CPU. In your case suggest to look also at Working with STEP 7 V5.4 Getting Started All this points are valid only in case of using Step7. With Step7 you can assign when, how... to energize outputs which will start/stop masterdrive and also to read inputs which will receive from masterdrive for drive' statuses. To send speed reference and to read actual speed fro masterdrive on your case will needs AI and AO. Unfortunately if you use Labview like software to control S7-300, I cant to help you. 2. How to assign to the drive all these I/O. You need to instal Drive monitor and then to connect to the drive. Procedure you can find in mentioned manual. Then using diagrams from manual to assign I/O. on page 108 - Parameter input with DriveMonitor; on page 909 - Analog input/analog output connection on page 910 - Digital input/digital output connection. You don't need any resistors there. For test you could connect directly S7-300 inbuild output to Drive input. If the digital inputs of the drive are supplied by an external 24 V voltage source, this has to correspond to ground X101.2. The terminal X101.1 must not be linked to the external 24 V supply. "Getting startes with Step7" manual is also useful in your case. In Step7 you make logic whci will control this drive. And write there using its syntax: if "some condition" (no emergency, no fault...) and pushed button start which is connected to inpout 0.0 activate output start drive Q0.0. This is the way to create logic in Step7. Now to be valid this logic you should to download to the CPU. How? For this purpose you need cable (in your case USB/MPI) to connect and download this code in CPU. Inside in CPU this code is execute and if the hardware connection is OK (all button are connected and Drive' I/O are connected to the CPU' I/O) then you can control the drive. Meanwhile you should also assign in masterdrive that if you receive at input 1 - 24V means start itself. I suggest you to contact with Siemens Office in your place and ask for available training courses. Another way is following fritz' suggestion:

How did you archive your project? Is this a Step7 project? I can't to open it. |
