Well, attached the pdl. NOTE: You have to create internal tag oftype "TextTag" with the name "folderpath" if you don't want to change the scripts For this tag you have to enter a start value, which contains your folder path like C:\test\ Don't forget the last backslash!!!! Feedback would be great best regards from Germany AttachmentOpen_PDF.zip (1074 Downloads) |

efka, thanks for attaching the PDL, I just tried it and it looks very nice. Just had to replace all texts (from ?????? to the ones from your jpg). A few remarks to remember: 1. if there are files in the folder to scan which can't be viewed in the webbrowser object, they will be opened with the according software (like Word,Excel, ...) 2. if a pdf is viewed in the webbrowser object, you can easily get access to the full system. Click on the Save-button in the top bar and the Save-dialog opens. From there, you have the Windows Explorer and you can start any executable with a rightclick instead of saving the file. Probably this can be changed by pdf viewer settings... Just to be sure, the above remarks are remarks, not complaints! |

thanks for the feedback efka, one more thing: when clicking on "Scan Folder", the last entry of the listbox is selected automatically and the webbrowser loads that file. However when you have multiple files in the folder, the webbrowser refreshes several times (probably due to updating the listbox entries and changing SelText) |

very true but that doesn't stop the refreshing of webbrowser until the filling of the listbox is done.. anyway, I'm sure that I could use this pdl in the near future |

it's because the Adobe PDF Reader ActiveX plug-in is not installed for your browser or your browser is set to open pdf with standalone Adobe PDF Reader instead of using the plug-in |

There is no settings in IE where you can choose how to open PDF, at least I can't find it. For ActiveX don't know, i need to check. But I found that this featuremay becaused by XP SP2 not IE. http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r20721070-IE-IE-7-can-not-browse-local-files |

efka, just a quick update on this one, did you check .NET controls for this (installed with WinCC)? there you have Microsoft.VisualBasic.Compatibility.VB6.FileListBox-control. It also has a default property called "Pattern" which you can adjust for displaying for example *.jpg;*.gif;*.txt ... regards |

Shame to find out that the standard path-property of this control is blocked by Siemens :( On efka's script, you can add some filtering like this: If Right(el.name, 3) = "pdf" Or Right(el.name, 3) = "txt" Then ... End If |
