I want to use Tia portal V20 Update1 to program Comfort HMI. My PLC is 416H that programmed by PCS7. When I add PLC as a Device Proxy, for Initialize it, s7p file not listed. i Used Tia V18 before and it have no problem. Please see the attached file too see all supported formats (*.IPE & *.AP20)

I Use SIMATIC_Migration_Tool_TIA_V20 for convert *.s7p to *.am20 file, There is two mode:

1- s7p file is a STEP7 file

2- s7p file is a PCS7 file

In the first case, project migrated successfully to am20 file. but still i can't import this format file to ''Device Proxy PLC''.  As I said before, *.IPE and *.ap20 are supported formats. we should open TIA Portal and select ''Migrate Project" to convert from am20 to ap20 but here a new error occurs (you can see in attached file). the reason for this error is that it doesn't support the 400H series components. 

Second case, PCS7 project (have the same format) migration was not successful. but not shown an error. (see the attached file)

As i said before, i use PCS7 V10 UC2 and TIA Portal V20 Update1.

I changed my TIA portal version to 18 but another problem was occurred. 

My Hardware is 417-5H firmware 6.0.10 (latest)

I begin to import the s7p file to device proxy data, this version support the s7p format but the following error occurs:

"No CPUs or defined device proxy data were found. Do you want to open another device proxy data source?"

Same issue here. We’re working with STEP 7 V5.7 project (CFC/Safety-CFC, S7-416), which can’t be migrated to TIA.

Our workaround:
We create a dummy project in TIA V19, generate a proxy from the *.s7p file, upgrade the project to V20, and then copy the proxy into the actual V20 project.

It works — but it’s a time-consuming process, especially when managing 20+ systems. Doing this for every small change is just not practical.

Siemens really needs to improve this.Either bring back *.s7p support or provide a  tool to generate *.ipe proxies directly from STEP 7
