TI-->S7 Library

DUTTA Posts: 102 Rating: (1)	Dear Experts, I am currenlty wroking on on eproject in which I need to replace old TI PLC with new S7 PLC. For that I want to use the library TI --> S7. But this library included very simple blocks. In TI PLC there are several special functions used. for an example TI PLC has special Alarm Blocks which gives HIGH-HIGH , HIGH , LOW , LOW-LOW alarms of given process varialble. my question: is there any similary blocks available in S7 library? if yes please guide me where can I find them. another issue with PID controller do we have any PID alogorithm in S7 similar/equal to TI PLC? reply me regards Dutta

billwest Posts: 510 Rating: (119)	Dutta, I have attached a document I created on converting TI 505 to S7. It is written around using the TI505-S7 Converter. The TI505-S7 library does not include the Analog Alarm. The converter programcalls blocks from theStandard PID Control Optional Package. The package includes a scheduler for scheduling the PID blocks and it includes an Analog Alarm block. FB1 from the Standard PID control more closely represents the PID loops in the 505. If you aren't doing ramp/soak, or math on SP, PV, or Output (LMN), or doing a pulsed output, then FB41 should meet your requirements. SCL is the preferred programming package for other Special Function Programs (SFPGMs). You could do your own loop scheduling in Step 7 and you could write your own Analog Alarmblock if you did n9ot want to use the Standard PID Control optional package. So FC1 - LP_SCHED, FC2- and FB1 are not generated automatically. Now if I want to use standards FB41. In this case how can I write Loop Schedule and loop caller block manully? For the ref. I am attaching the TI program which I have converted. Please guide me. ***ALSO TELL ME THAT IF I HAVE TO PURCHASE THIS STANDARD PID OPTION WHAT IS THE MLFB NUMBER OF THAT SO THAT I CAN GET THOSE FBs AND FCs IN MY PROGRAM. with best regards, Dutta

billwest Posts: 510 Rating: (119)	There are 12 loops running at 1.0 sec. All of the loops are simple loops, there is no ramp/soak or special functions on PV or Output so FB41 should work. If you are using a 414 you have 4 interrupt blocks, OB32 thru OB35 OB32 runs at 1 sec. Youcouldput them all in OB32 (1000 msec). If that doesn' t work for you, you can put them all in OB 35 Then in OB35, you can set up an Add +1 to a memory location and set up a compare for each number 1 thru 10. Then you use the result of the compare to enable the loop(s) you want to run. On the compare for 10 you also reset the memory location to 0. You can trigger one or two loopseach time OB35 runs, after 10 executions (1000 msec), you start over. Bill

My question is do I need to map V Flag area separately? I mena in FB67 there is no memory mapped in filed like High , Low , here is the code I0: CALL #AA0 CYCLE :=#TIME1 SFPGM :=FC34 PV :=DB190.DBW2004 RSP := //???? ENABLE := //???? DISABLE := //????
