Help !! CPU 417H

RomiK Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi ! We have PCS7 project with CPU S7-417H and ET200M. Periodically standby CPU (RACK 1) stops (H-system in solo mode) with record in diagnostic buffer: STOP due to synchronization error between H CPUs Previous operating mode: RUN (redundant mode) Requested operating mode: STOP (internal) Event occurred in the standby CPU in rack 1 Incoming event There are no other records in diagnostic buffer. After warm restart H-system again works in redundant mode. We tried to replace sync submodules and sync optical cables in both CPUs, also we tried to replace both CPUs. But without success. What can be a reason of a stop of the controller? How is it possible to avoid this situation in the future ? Thanks for your help

What Firmware at your CPU? To us recommended to update firmware: Update V3.1.3 (6ES7 414-4HJ00-0AB0) Please look to the Link: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/de/6741018 If the communication load was high and a number of cyclic HMI jobs had to be executed at the same time, loss of synchronization could occur in isolated cases. RomiK Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi Dimbas ! Usually it occurs approximately once a day but sometimes more often. Version of Firmware in our CPU is 4.0.4. I speak Russian. Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	In 3-4 days after starting H-sytem slave CPU went to stop mode. I couldn't determine why by diagnostic buffer - it had only "cannot syncronize CPUs" message (dont remember exact message). So i changed size of Dbs for syncronizing (i have around 200 K - set to 250k) and restarted system. DP slave (another CPU then) went to STOP again. I made few experiments (including replacing CPUs with same CPUs from another project), so i was able to find out time, in which CPU fails. It was from 10 hours to 5 days. So i downloaded firmware version 4.0.7 - made update of CPUs - and everything is ok till now (few month past).

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	We have some stations on Ethernet - including time syncronization master. Also there are some ET200 M connected to both PROFIBUS lines. Also some DP-slaves are connected to PROFIBUS lines (not via Y-link - we use PROFIBUS Redundancy Switch by Comsoft).

I have had a simular problem whereby the synchornisation modules where not placed well. You may do this when the Master is in RUN because the power of the sync-modul is switched off when you remove the front. After new installing the 4 sync-modules please look carefully to the pins and switches if they standing in the right position.
