Program download problem

AutoGen_5304949 Member Joined: 4/28/2020 Last visit: 7/12/2024 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi, I uploaded a program from S7-200 (communication via CP 243-1 IT). When uploading the program, the error "Communications time-out. (...)" appeared. I made minor modifications in the program and wanted to download them to the PLC. I got a warning: "There are wizard configurations that do not match for attached modules. Reposition Intelligent modules or exit and reconfigure using the wizards". When I browse the wizard from CP 243-1, there is no IP address or basically any settings. It actually says "Module 2" and the module is third after the CPU. The source of the problem is CP because when I removed it from the project and went to download, the warning disappears. My question is does anyone know why CP was uploaded incorrectly and how to make a full correct download? If there is no other way out, I'll try to get through this complicated wizard from CP 243-1. If me at your situation, I'll try connect to this PLC and check via PLC->Information actual state of cfg, modules state, parameters, all options for sure. If you can, then do screenshot (Prtscr copy jpg file) from CP cfg screen or also other parts from cfg, for sure to see. Maybe then some one can have tip what is there and what problem maybe. In case you did some download partial steps then it can be worst because you can't be sure now if some diffrencies are compared to previous cfg. Experiences...

For programming you 100% want to use the PPI or the MPI/DP port (EM277) by means of a multi-master adapter, pc adapter, MPI/DP ethernet gateway, ect. The thing is with these modules I experienced with is, It 'can' work. I was needed to find the PLC every time again after an upload because a upload is resetting the PLC thus resetting the Ethernet module. Occasional i needed to reconfigure the module again. /edit Maybe you did a upload w/out "creating a data block from ram? Not sure if i'm right, but if you did and download to plc with all the tabs on (program/data/system block) the blank "user data" in the current project will be send to the PLC, meaning it will lose the Ethernet module configuration data block created by the wizzard.

Since you say that the ways you mentioned to connect to the controller are better, I will do so. I have an old Simatic Field PG M4 and a 6ES7 901-3CB30-0XA0 cable.
