Hello: I am currently using the EM 231 Analog Input Card with Type J thermocouple. I am going to switch to Type K thermocouple and run some test. I am wondering which dip switch to change because i was told that i had to switch only one of them? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hello; Appendix A of the S7-200 System manual describes the dipswitch settings of the EM 231 thermocuple modules. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ca/en/view/1109582 Of the 8 available switches, only the first 3 MSB (starting at the left) are used to determine the type of TC you are working with.. - For a J TC, the first 3 dipswitches must be set at 000. - For a K TC, set the dipswitch no 3 to 1, so those 3 MSB switches read 001. The Appendix describes the use of the other dipswitches, study it based on your needs. Then power down/power up the PLC in order for this change to be recognozed by the PLC. Hope this hels, Daniel Chartier |
