POK and PR = Green

how about your 611D , are there red led

I think your NCU basically heath --maybe communication problem on interface 

Do you have another similar system --if yes you can switching cables or HMI to test 

or if you have PC/PG with Siemens PLC programming tool--"SIMATIC manager" --it is also helpful for troubleshooting

PS: After I modified many times, I can load picture for you. Now I you answer me, is there red LED on the 611D drives? and please load the NCU picture--close looking MPI/OPI cables connections

Any ideas how to upload pictures in this situation?

I suggest you to check Profibus cable, connection & connector between NCU, PCU, HMI etc. etc. 

 1st I need to see your 611D drive picture--"All units to the right of the NCU have red LED lighted."

You picture not show 611D.

#2--during waiting for answer , you can try cable, --I suggest you re-make cable, change all PROFIBUS connectors , remember ON/OFF switch position on every connector--- specials start from the OPI cable--I send your NCU picture you will where is OPI--it on the top right

you can temporarily  take out left side PROFIBUS DP cable to connect from HMI to OPI to test 

WHen you take out PROFIBUS DP cable sure you will have ERROR LED on NCU, but that will not affect you communication from HMI to OPI on NCU.

Hi - thank you for the reply.

1) All units to the right of the NCU have red LED lighted.

2) We have a similar system, but in this machine down condition I cannot afford to interrupt the production on that machine at the present time.

3) We do not have Simatic Manager.
