I've set up high speed counter (HSC 1 ) andI am able to view inputs but the status does not changes

Ihave configure HSC as following

General- High Speed Counter = Enabled

Function - Type of counting =Count

Operating Phase = A/B counter (I am usingA/B Hohner Encoder)

Initial Counting Direction =Count up

I/O adresses = Proces image PI

Could somebody explain me please why i am not having anything at the status output the value isn't changing and unfortunately i cannot use it further on in the program any ideas please let know.

Hi folks,

What voltage levels does your encoder put out? If that is within the counter input voltage specs, then check the inputs with an o'scope and verify the pulses are coming in correctly.

For additional testing of the inputs, you can reconfigure the input to not be A/B and simply read in a single channel.

That all said,my guess is the voltage levels are not matched. An o'scope may prove out the point. Please do check the voltage level inputs required for counting. The inputs are 24VDC inputs, so if your encoder is putting out TTL level, you may need a level converter, or a TTL level input signal board.

I would like to refer to wizzard answer about the ammount of inputs used in configuration for counter this isn't what the hardwer configuration manual says,even if what shouldI take as I0.3 A or B chanel.For counter StatusI have got Global Data Block .

The Encoder usedin the project is a HTL with an output of 24vdc . I am able to view (Online/Monitor) inputs flashing cw or ccw depending on direction. Issue remains only with count value .Any ideas please let known .
