No connection to PLC using a USB hub

AutoGen_4712888 Joined: 11/14/2023 Last visit: 11/5/2024 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hello, I'm strugling to get connected to the PLC S7-1200 using Tia portal. I have worked with Tia portal some years ago on an other laptop which had an ethernet port.On the laptop I use now I have only USB for which I use a Hub. At this moment I have Windows 10 running and Tia portal V18. In my adapter settings on windows I see an unknwon Ethernet conneciton with "Siemens PLCSIM Virtual Ethernet Adapter." If I try to connect in Tia Portal it says: "No accessible nodes were found" followed by "Scan completed. 0 Devices found". During the search the orange led is blinking. I'm not sure if all the settings on my PC are correct. On google I found to check if a service was running which seems correct. Thank you.

Ist this Adapter correct installed in Windows Device Manager? Is the Adapter correct displayed in TIA Portal in the folder "Online Accesses"? The PLCSIM Virtual Adapter can not be used to connect to a real PLC, is only for Connection to simulated S7-1500 witk PLCSIM Advanced. Regards

There is an ethernet port at the adapter which I connect with a cable to the PLC. (Hub used: A-KONIC USB C HUB 8 in 1) In the device manager I see as shown in the screenshot. in the map Oline Accesses I see as shown in the screenshot. Should I use S7USB or PN/IE as interface? How could you see that this is the issue? As I see green V marks as it is good. Thanks. really, I write my message again because it is absolutelly no clear to me what devices for connection you have. Your Topic name shows USB HUB, so pls be kind describe it better, it is USB-ETH adapter or some USB powered switch????? Really so many confused infos. Onother side, S7USB isn't typical USB Port connection. Virtual adapter to PLCSIM adv is just like ETH/PN access point of PLCSim so this isn't right HW adapter but virtual Port. I don't know, I recommend improve knowledge about networks and also to your used version of PLCSim ADV where you can read all things that are required for functionality.

If this is correct, is there an error message shown? If yes, which one (screenshot)? Please note: For the connection, Port 102 is necessary. So please check if this port is somewhere blocked on your system. (Firewall, security settings, user rights in domain management e.g.). If the port is blocked, the connection establishment will not be possible. But maybe there is also an issue with the laptop in general, because the letters looks kind of strange. Regards sancruz
