You talk about drivers for NVMe Drives, and i have a question about the possibility to add an NVMe drive into a simatic Field PG M6. 

1/Is it possible to add one inside an install drivers?

2/there is a slot insite to do this, or it is necessary to replace the DVD reader for example?

3/The motherboard  is compatible with a nvme drive?

Hello,

is correct that Win7 is not in the supported list of OS for the PG, only Windows 10.

but normaly it should no problem install a OS on a device, the problem are the drivers , some new HW Components have no Driversupport for Win7 anymore.

What exactly happens if you boot from DVD?

USB can be a problem because Win7 doen't support USB 3.0 native which is need for setup from USB Sticks.

What you can do is create a customized Windows7 DVD which includes the drivers for all HW components, some MS Updates for NVMe Drives.
