It is doubtful that you have the same problem. If you did, the best option has already been mentioned:  Contact Siemens. Use the "Support Request" web link.

As a matter of interest - Protool does not install on a Windows 64-bit operating system. To apply the Hotfix, the base version should already be installed. Speak to your local Siemens representative to assist you if you are looking for the software. 

Lastly: Be sure to use the COM1 or COM2. The software was not developed to handle other communication port numbers.

sry to say that you're not correct. I have ProTool 6.0 SP3 HF3 installed at Win7 x64 Home without problems. I think that magical Run as Administrator is required here also

I need to say of course that I'm absolutelly agree with your next descriptions what is required to do and what is available there.

By me also on Win7 64 Bit.

@Duris_I: Ivan, thank you for the correction. I never could get Protool to run on anything later than Windows XP. It is clear now that the error was on my side.

no problem, I had same experience with other higher OS than XP SP2 but this can be like some internal functionality of OS, specific, who knows. My luck that works ok
