Greetings,

I am currently working on an equipment controlled by a SIMATIC 505. There are two I/O modules (Input module  505-4216A ; Output module 505-4832) that are not working at all. No LED gets lit up on either component when powered on. I have read the section of the manual for those equipment pertaining to that issue, but I still have questions that need clarification. 

The first probable cause on the list is that the modules are not receiving power and the suggested corrective action is to check the power supply and connections. I checked the connections and everything seems in place. However, after power cycling the machine, when I checked the voltage ( with a multimeter set on DC voltage) between the terminal AR on one hand, and the respective inputs A1 through A4, I got 0V instead of the 24VDC I expected. same goes with the terminals B, C and D with their respective commons. I am not sure whether I measure the voltage across the appropriate terminals, and if there are in their correct status (NO or NC) when the power is on.

The second probable cause suggested is that the I/O modules are not configured, and the suggested corrective active action is to perform their configuration. I checked the manual to configure the I/O, and it requires a specific software (TISOFT) installed in an old operation system (Windows 95) neither which I have.

The third and last option is to replace the components. But, I would like to exhaust the two previous ones first before giving up. I look forward to your assistance in resolving this issue. Thank you beforehand for your help.
