Problem with parameterization of modbus block

Import-User-1 Posts: 3609 Rating: (29)	AUMAX_DAM I am have a CPU 6ES7 315-2eh13-0AB0 and Open Modbus TCP software. I am need communicate with a SCADA software. This SCADA is master (server). I am need configre my program in the PLC. I am use the Modbus TCP Wizard for configure DB MODBUS-PARAM. I am use for test MDBUS soft. Is a simulator. You can download from www.calta.com. Do you have other software for test? My projectdo do not communicate. My principal doubts are the next parameters: local_tsap_id. I do not know what is this value. rem_staddr. If necesary put this value? In my case is IP address of my PC? rem_tsap_id. If necesary put this value? I do not know what is this value. Do you have an example for my application? I am use the MODBUS_PN_CPU_EXAMPLE, but do not run succefully. I am attach my program. Thank you Best regards.

If you use the ModbusTCP Wizard to configure the PARAM_DB, you needn't change the parameters in the DB manually after that. The wizard insert the necessary parameters. If you want to know the meaning of the parameters, go to UDT65 in the standard library/communication blocksand click "F1". In this online help you find the description. Or you open the manual of the ModbusTCP product, page 4-3. Here you find the description as well. To open theexample project: go to SIMATIC Manager -> Open -> tab "examples" -> button "Browse..." -> select the project "MB_PN_CPU" in EXAMPLES. Wüstenräuber

I am download mod_RSsim.exe and change ID to 3 in my PC and OB100, change recv_time to 1000 msec, and set Responsiveness to 200 msec in mod_RSsimin my PC and run OK. But I am only can write from PC to PLC. Do not write from PLC to PC. This mod_RSsim is only for write? How I can read? Others questions. The PLC ID is 1? The port number in PLC is 502? I am want test with Kepware Server too, but not run OK. Thank you.

The program mod_Rssimis the modbus server and so it's the passive part of the communication. The telegrams are started from the S7 side. If you want to read datas from the simulation program, then you have to set the parameter WRITE_READ = FALSE (on the modbusblock). If you want to write datas into the simulation program, then you have to set the parameter WRITE_READ = TRUE. The connection ID and the port number for the communication partner is depend on your configuration in the PARAM_DB. If the 7 is the client, then you needn't parameterize a local port number for the S7. You have to parameterize only the port number and the ip address for the remote partner. Or I have declare two instance to FB102 and declare one transmision area and other reception area? I am attach my program. Very thank for your assistance is very important for me. Best regards. In OB100 and in cyclical OB you have to call 2 modbus instances with different instance DBs - 1 as a server and 1 as a client. You have to program the toggle of WRITE_READ by yourself. If you want to read 5 times and after that write 5 times, then you have to program a counter in your S7 program, so that this parameter is toggled. I will have a look at your project... Wüstenräuber

Are you sure, that this is correct? Normally the modbus server gets the port number 502. Currently I can't test your program because on my PN-CPU is running a long-time-test. I suggest to set the remote port number to 502 and try it again. If errors occur, then post again. Wüstenräuber
