SiTRANS p320 flow with linear transfer function

Hi, i have SITRANS P320 DP transmitters used for flow measurement. However, the "square root" function is implemented in DCS. so, the Transfer function on Tx. should be "Linear". Accordingly, i had to use the Tx. as "pressure" transmitter. in this case, the display shows only pressure values and units. Is there a way to make the display shows the "Flow' values and units instead? i.e. can i make the display values different from mA output? Thanks and best regards |

Don't take this as official, because I retired post covid and no longer have a P320 lying around to goof with, but my guess is you can't have your cake (Linear) and eat it too, (Flow units). I suspect that, If it calculates the PV as flow units, then it displays flow units If it calculates the PV as pressure units, it displays pressure units. This is the Siemens user forum, just plain 'ol users, not the factory guys with an inside line. You can submit a support request to get the real facts from the exalted insiders.. |

Thanks for your info, basically, in other brands like ABB (and i think Yokogawa as well), the display can be configuered separately from the mA output. that's why i'm seeking the same option in Siemens. |
