Good Afternoon! I'm having problems with the PC communication module SIWAREX CS. I've tried to use two types of cable USB/RS232 to communicate, even one is one that is specified by Siemens in the forums (http://www.aten.com/products/productItem.php?pcid=20050107104554001&psid=20050117102915002&pid=2005022316346005), and none of them worked. I put the tip of the USB cable to the PC, and the serial input of the ET200 DB9, where the module is mounted SIWAREX CS, and nothing happens. What happens is that when the Siwatool I choose the communication port and click on ONLINE, the system opens a window "status communication" and there is by counting the number of "retries" communication, reaching number 100, unable to establish communication. And below the Siwatool where the tab says the communication status ONLINE / OFFLINE, appearing on "Error Comunication", it is not possible to go online in the module. Help me please. |

Hello Sr. Juliano Keske, When you can see that a window opens with "status communication" and there is a counting of the number of "retries" communication visible, that means that the Siwatool software can find the COM port and try to communicate with the Siwarex CS module. How did you connect the cable between the USB-adapter and the Siwarex CS module? (I mean: Which pins are you using between the USB-adapter and the Siwarex CS module?) Best regards Siwarexi |

Good Day Siwarexi The cable I'm using, as you can see in this link (http://www.aten.com/products/productItem.php?pcid=20050107104554001&psid=20050117102915002&pid=2005022316346005), one end has a USB connector, I put on the PC, and the other end has a connector Serial DB9, which I put at the door of the Profibus Remote ET200, which is mounted on the SIWAREX module. That is, I'm not doing the 3 wire connection cable with DIRECT module SIWAREX, but the door Profibus ET200, this way I'm doing works? Or only communicates directly connect the USB and RS232 communication ports on the module SIWAREX? |

Hello Sr. Juliano Keske, You have to connect the Siwatool-cable directly to the Terminal block under the Siwarex CS module, but not to the ET200S profibus station. On the internet you can find the manual of the Siwarex CS module: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/19250865 Into the chapter 4.4.1 you can find a picture of that Terminal block under the Siwarex CS module. You have to use the pins 12, 15 and 16 of the Terminal block for the Siwatool-cable. Into the chapter 4.4.7 you can find the pin-connection between the Terminal block and the PC. Best regards Siwarexi |

Hello dwdavis, Are you using an USB/RS232 adapter? How do you connect the PC with the Siwarewx CS module? (I mean which pins are you using for connecting the cable?) What behaviour do you see into the Siwatol software? What happens exactly? Best regards Siwarexi |

Hi, I couldn't get the Siwarex CS software working with an standard usb to serial FTDI cable. with the build in COM port connecting to the software was no problem. After a lot of digging i found out that the problem is with the used baudrates 9600bps, 1200bps and 80bps the default FTDI cables don't support 80bps (maybe the 3UF7946-0AA00-0 from siemens can?) Maybe this info can help others who have the same problem. |
