Ethernet Communication Between S7-200&CP243-1 with S7-1200

Tzole1974 Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	I have 1 CPU 224XP and CP243-1 installed in a small LAN which has also a S7-1200 connected to an Ethernet Switch. I am trying to exchange data between them but i can not figure out which is the proper way to do it. I would prefer as an active partner the S7-1200 so as to initiate the transmission and read/write commands. If it impossible then i could use S7-200. Which protocol Should i use ? (TCP, ISO on TCO, S7) Can anyone advice for the above issue ? Would be much appreciated!! Best Regards George

I will try from S7-200 side but then i have to know TSAP of S7-1200. Does anyone know something about it ? Anyway, if anyone has done something similar, his comments are more than welcome. thanks again Best Regards George

For S7 functions (other protocol), the S7-1200 is just server. On other side, the S7-200 have just S7 funcitons (as server or client): no TCP connections... So in this case the S7-200 must be the client and the S7-1200 the server using S7 protocool.

Tzole1974 Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Hello Mr Pegaia, Thank you very much. Your comments were clarified my thoughts! I would try to communicate from S7-200 as a client and use S7-1200 as a server. That means i have nothing to write from S7-1200 side,right ? Only use some data files for read/write purposes. I will use ethernet wizard from S7-200 and read/write data from/to S7-1200. I think it is the same as to have WinCC Flexible 2008 as client and S7-200 as a Server for passing values to SCADA. Thank you again for your assistance. Regards, George

Tzole1974 Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Hello I have not made the test yet but i would like to ask the following : When I setup S7-200 as a client (in my case S7-200 client, S7-1200 server), which should be the right Remote TSAP(S7-1200) ? Local TSAP(S7-200) --> 10.00 (First connection of PLC , cp243-1 next to cpu 0 slot ) Remote TSAP(S7-1200) --> ?? The same maybe ? S7-1200 has ethernet port empedded. Thank you. Regards, George
