the Field PG P4 can smooth from a bootable USB Stick. The BIOS version is not important. Please install the usb stick in the interface and than setting the "USB legacy support" in the BIOS at "enabled". Then reboot the PG and setting the boototion at "usb device". Than you can boot from a bootable usb stick. Mit freundlichen Gruessen Steffen Kohlmann SIEMENS AG Technical Support fuer Automatisierungs- und Antriebstechnik |

Hello WimVD, I'm no PG expert, and can only describe how I think it is: In general the legacy support should be swiched off, because then Windows uses it's own drivers to access the drive. This allows to use power management, IQR sharing, etc. When you want to boot from a usb device you must enable the legacy support. I think the hardware resources are fixed (when the legacy support is enabled) and can not be changed by windows any more. Windows will still use its own drivers to access the drive, but must disable the additional functions like standby, etc. kind regards Dirk |

When I change the bios( legacy on , USB boot first in list) , with the usb inserted , then it boots from usb .When I then remove the usb , start the pc ( HD ) then shutdown again .Insert usb then reboot .... the HD is selected and not the USB .Is there a way that the usb can stay selected as first boot drive.
