MM440 with S7

henno2000 Posts: 177 Rating: (0)	Hi, I am a ***ie to the interaction of drives with PLCs and am looking for a few answers if possible. The panel has been pre-built, and the program now needs writing I am to control motors with MM440 through a PLC. What requirements will I need? (IE - GSD file, FBs etc). Many thanks in advance.

For the motors that I am wanting to control, they are to run at 100% speed, until they reach a particular threshold, then decrease proportionally to the pressure, until they reach their 'OFF' value. I have been thinking about my problem and am not sure if the solution would be for PID control (this may be over-complicated for the task), but to implement a set of rules for when the pressure reaches a particular threshold, send a speed reference to the drive. I have attached an Excel file of when I need the pumps to start decreasing speed. Could someone agree what the best control method would be? Pact = Actual pressure P1=pressure when fan< 100 P2=pressure when fan = 0 General: Speed = 100 - ((Pact - P1) / (P2 - P1) * 100) For fan 1: Speed = 100 - ((Pact - 42) / (50 - 42) * 100) Add some limits so the speed can't be greater the 100 or less than 0. You willhave problems when you start to run your motors at the lower speeds so youwill have to stop them before 0, exactly what point will only be found out by testing.
