SIMODRIVE 611 and USB PG interface

rvrichie Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Dear All, I need help with the pins on the cable for connection between PG/PC (with only USB interfaces) and SIMODRIVE 611. In all the documents and posts I have read, I found that the serial RS232 is needed on the PG side in order to connect to the SIMODRIVE 611 using SimoComU (I'm using SimoCom U 13020201). But, I don't have serial RS232 on my PC. I also found that "a commercially available USB/RS232 interface adapter can be connected!". So, I'm using an HP MT608-2 USB converter (with appropriate drivers, set on COM1 port), but with no luck. SimoCom U never finds a drive on the other side of the cable. So, I'm thinking that the cable is the problem - I tried the cable with two DB9 connectors using "the loop back hardware handshake" and the cable with two DB9 connectors using "the full hardware handshake", along with the USB converter. As I already said, with no luck. What kind of cable do I need? And is it just the cable?
