So after spending an hour on the Siemens websites doing searches with no luck as usual, i thought i would ask here. I'm trying to find documentation on the procedures of Using CSAL from start to finish.Specifically building a CT database with CSAL points, graphics, PPCL, etc. Do i have to use design tool or can it all be done from comm tool? Any help is appreciated. Knowlix mentions a support website http://landscape.us.abatos.com/navigatorfor CSAL support but the link does not work, but the thread is also from 2002. |

Try the following site http://iknow/navigator/ I am not sure it will help. Navigator manual was really created for CS Estimating. The short answer is,The best way to use CSAL is:1. Select an application in via DT’s “System” windows (new Mechanical System)2. DT brings in Mechanical/Electrical Drawings, Points, Sequence of Operations directly to DT.3. DT also pulls out the PPCL, and Graphics file from CSAL to a folder under DT. (With the same name as the user named his mechanical system. Example: AHU001.PCL and AHU001.DSF4. Create a Controller (PXC) and assign all the points to the Controller (Include virtual points)5. Export To CT to get all the Controllers and points into CT.6. Import the Graphic (dsf) and Program (PPCL) via Graphics and Program editor respectively. The second way to use CSAL via CT only is:1. Create a controller via System Profile (normal operation)2. !!No way to import points via CT. It was always assumed DT would be used.!3. Open Program Editor and select File\Import from Navigator (or CSAL?) and select the correct application. Only the PPCL comes in to program editor.4. Open Graphics Editor and select File\Import from Navigator (or CSAL?) and select the correct applications. The DSF file is opened in graphics editor. Save background. 5. And so on….Hope it helps |
