just  a general question. 

Can the micro master range of drives  have their speed changed

as they are running  eg if the drive is at say 150 rpm can it be sped up to say 180

rpm?   i have been playing around with all the setpoints i could find

but not able to do that.  it seems to only take the setpoint in P005

and when i change the setpoint as drive mon is running it it never speeds up.

it will not respond to changes to the HSW word at all and ignores setpoint

in P095

any help most appreciated

Thanks for the response.

the drive is an old MM150. 

I think i have worked out where i might have misunderstood things

i have looked back through the standard drive handbook.

there is a section about Din terminals. i think i need to

put a switch on at least one of them and set its parameter to Remote.

The seimen books are short on examples, pretty poor really and my

reading of what little there is has been disjointed. 

i have another post here called Digital Pot i think

where i might have had by brain kicked back onto track.

I will put some switches on the terminals and have a test

run.

I can see (page 36):

Parameter P054, which is set by Terminal 11 going high, can be set to 9, this will switch from Local to Remote. Remote being USS serial control.

I thought there was another parameter to set, but I cannot find it, dodgy memory I guess?

Have a look at P910, this may give you remote control RS485, without using a digital input??

yeah i been testing it.

put a switch on Din 1 (P051)  set P051 to 9

P910 set to 3 (remote and parameter change)

set the serial link setpoint to 5.00 Hz

Set P006 to 1 and to 2 tried them both

set P007 to 0 and to 1 tried them both

tested using drive monitor 

control word 1 set to 1 (run)

pressed accept the motor jumps half a turn and back

the drive shaft locks solid.

the drive only runs when P006 is set to 0

if i take it to 1 (analogue) or 2 (fixed freq)

it just jumps as described above

i tried various settings on P910 too

 Ok tried it with your settings 

wired switch to terminal 11

switch set to on (high)

set P053 to 9

set P910 to 2 (remote with frequency control)

set P006 to 2

P007 to 0 and to 1

now its not running at all

but no faults showing. its odd

something is off in some other parameter.

needs more testing i guess

Have you a potentiometer connected to terminals 3&4?

Switch 1, SW1, needs to be set to V, for this to work.

Or

Link 1 to 3, and 2 to 4, to give an analogue setpoint for full speed control?

The manual I have is G85139-E1720-U325-B, date 07/96, bottom right hand corner of the page.

i will try your suggestion. how do i set the motor setting to 8.00hz

that's the fastest i can run the motor is not fixed down and shakes the room!

is it the analogue freq setpoint parameter? P021 and  P022?

 To make the 'remote operation', if you have a switch in terminal 11, which is DIN4; then P054 must be set to 9. You are using 15 Volts from terminal 7 to make this high?

Without the pot, link 1&3, and 2&4, then set P013, max motor frequency to 8Hz. this should prove the analogue setpoint is working.

I am ok for time, it would be good to get this working.
