Sorry for the late reply. We have interactive reports where we place a dwg file as a background on an E&IC report. It is rather simple. All you have to do is place an autocad file box as a sub report on the template of your interactive report. In the script editor of the box you can put something like this:

Name = obj.FullFileName
If InStr(Name,".DWG") > 0 And InStr(obj.Name,"*") = 0 Then

End Sub

So if you copy a dwg file below the report it will be displayed as background. I do not know how well this works for pdf files but I'm sure it's possible. You probably will have to try the other boxes you can place on the template like picture box or graphical object.

The other point with this method is, that when there is no file below the report, then there will be an empty rectangle displayed on the report, which is a bit annoying. So you will have to create a separate template only for this purpose.
