Split from Tia Portal on new Apple M1 chip.

So, if you install a tiny windows 10 pro (or better) virtual machine on your macbook m1, and then install portal on that, you should theoretically be able to download to the PLC.

If that works, that means the macbook is hardware-wise capable of downloading to the PLC.

What VMs support windows 10 pro+ on M1 chips?

That's true. I've got MacBook m1 Tia works properly. Only one and last one issue is with working(download) with real live PLC. I spent many hours without any success to download software stricte from MacBook m1(x86) to real PLC. I've tried all what I can do and what I found on web but still could not connect to PLC from macbook with M1 chip.

Not possible at this time. M1 Macs don't have Bootcamp, and can't run x86-64 VMs. You can run a Windows VM, but it is only the Windows on ARM tech preview, which TIA won't run on. Apples Rosetta 2 translation layer, which translates x86 macOS binaries to ARM, cannot run virtualization software either.

 Not true. With Parallels for mac and a W10 ARM preview image TIA portal is running just fine. Only profinet communication is not working on any network adapters for me at the moment.

Did you try Profibus communication? It should work via Bluetooth on M1.

Did you successfully connect to PLC with Macbook m1?  I've used to work with Tia Without any issue on M1 but connection was a different story. Ironically I could ping to device from cmd prompt on Parralles desktop, and also I have checked all settings in device manager PG/PC and communication settings, all seems to be ok.

When I Trying  connect to  device  I've got error - cannot establish connection and also I cannot see any devices when I try to update accessible devices. Like I wrote before I can normally ping device from windows cmd to device.
